Research Triangle Park, North Carolina (August 25, 2010)--BASF Crop Protection launched its third installment in the 2010 Top Plots series, featuring 10-time national corn-growing champion Kip Cullers from Purdy, Mo.

The latest Top Plots video, available at www.youtube.com/user/BASFAgproducts, highlights the farming practices Cullers uses to start each season and the resources he turns to in a dry season.

Known in farming circles as a “soybean celebrity,” Cullers established world records for soybean production at 139 bushels per acre in 2006 and 154 bushels per acre in 2007. He’s also placed numerous times in the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) National Corn Yield Contest with consecutive first-place finishes in the Irrigated Class.

To maximize his crops from planting to harvest, Cullers uses Integrity® – part of the Kixor® Herbicide Technology family of products – for preplant-incorporated or preemergence treatment of corn. Cullers also uses the disease control and Plant Health power of Headline® fungicide to increase yield potential on corn and soybeans.

Throughout the 2010 growing season, the BASF Crop Protection Top Plots series will feature four Midwestern corn and soybean growers sharing their crop management stories. The Top Plots series is available at www.youtube.com/user/BASFAgproducts.
